Theis (2018), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut/colabrown - offwhite head. High smokey aroma. Smoke, nice malty body, wood, creamy body. A very nice rauchbier.
dunkpigen (274), Kolding, Denmark Jul 29, 2008 Tap @ the brewpub, Vienna. Pours hazy dark brown with a creamy beaige head with laces. Aroma is smoked and slighly roasted. It is soft and creamy and the smoke is strong in the beginning and then you can taste the roasted malt that stays in the aftertaste also - I actually like this - and I am not a Rauchbier girl :o) thewolf (3490), Kolding, Denmark Jul 13, 2008 Tap @ the brewpub, Vienna.
Pours deep brown with a nice, medium, creamy, light-bwige head. Aroma has a little earthiness, quite a lot of smoke and lightly roasted. Fine, light mouthfeel. Flavour is softly smoky - very well-balanced. Quite malty sweet, some sugary notes. Good aftertaste, with pleasant smoke and roasted caramel. A positive surprise.
Derek881 (321), Frederick, Maryland, USA Feb 14, 2008 Another beer that I enjoyed on tap at the brewpub in Vienna. The aroma was mostly malt and very smoky and earthy. An orange-red color with a big, foamy white head that had good retention. The taste was pretty sweet, and also had a strong, smoked malt effect. The body and carbonation were both moderate, and the finish was slightly dry. One of their better beers, pretty good.
