This was a pretty damn good IPA. I love when you find good beer in places you would not expect it. Some of the other beers I have had from this brewery have been lackluster at best. The hop aroma is quite pronounced, with that fresh resiny quality that I love in an IPA. The palate is quite juicy and sweet, with lots of Simcoe grapefruit notes. Medium bodied, with a strong caramel malt background, that somewhow all seems to come together. Really well done!

Sampled in June @ Brewery - Aroma is almost sour, but not in a bad way, just a bit tart, from all the citrusy acidity, strong hop aroma of grapefruit and tangerine. Candy sweet malty flavor, with some rich caramel and toffee, with some other bits of resiny hop fruitiness. Super juicy and rich on the palate, this is a real pleasure to drink.

Rating is for standard draught version. Sweet, floral, citric aroma, hints of blueberry and bubblegum amidst the honeyish, lightly sugary, mildly toasty malt and featuring gentle hints of lemon and grapefruit. Light-medium clear amber color with a foamy, lasting, off-white head. Flavor is primarily hoppy but surprisingly low in bitterness for all the hop character present in the flavor, which starts with a blend of pine, grapefruit and other tropical fruits, becoming a bit more dry, finishing with a burst of juicy, light bitterness, resinous, but not overly so or adding to the complexity, somehow. Palate is smooth and lightly oily, body is medium. Refreshing. A worthy effort, particularly from this brewer.

Sampled on cash at St. Louis Microfest - Hazy orange beer with an off-white soapy head. The beer was dry-hopped and there was LOTS of hop sediment in the sample - that put a smile on my face. Aroma was lots of hops, mainly citrus and perfume qualities. There was also a good amount of malt backing it up. Initial taste has creamy malt with a bit of a caramel. Finish is smooth with citrus and pine hops. The finish lingers around making it easy to savor for a while. Very nice beer.

On Cask at the St. Louis Microfest. Hazy golden hue. Bubbled white head. Piney and citrus hop nose and a subtle flavor of windex, but not really in a bad way. Medium and rounded. Off dry with pine and citrus hop flavors. Light malt character. Sticky on the palate.

Sampled on draft at 75th Street in KC. Pours clear amber in color with a full head and intricate lacing. Pine, spice and floral aroma and flavor. Wonderfully hoppy! Medium-full body. A solid APA.

VERY hoppy...but to the point of a little too citrusy for me. If you like your beers a little sweet you will like this one, I prefer mine a little more bitter.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear peachy/amber color, with very little white head and some lacing. Citrus aroma like orange, grapefruit, and mango, cut with some piney notes. Sweet malt aromas cut the hops nicely. The flavor is dominated with hops. Evergreen, orange juice, and cotton candy sweet. Tonge clinching bitterness, but with a quick release. Medium body that leaves a thin coating over the tongue. Yes, I’ll have another.
