Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates May 19, 2006 Draft at the St Louis Microfest 5/13/06: True amber hue. Verrry malt character, slick caramel cadny flavors. An OK amber. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 1, 2006 More of an Amber in my opinion, but whatever, I don’t make the beer. Has a light hoppy fruit aroma. Malt body is a little on the weak side, a little bready with some caramel. Very drinkable, just not overly complex. Sledge Jr (2721), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 26, 2006 On tap at the 2006 Best of the Midwest Brewers’ Festival. Medium copper in color with a small white head. Sweet hoppy malty aroma. Has a milky mouthfeel. True to style. Pretty tasty. Dogbrick (2350), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 9, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a mostly clear copper-amber color with a medium light beige head. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is fruity malt with a touch of hops. Medium, smooth body with flavors of earthy malt and light fruity undertones. Slight hops presence as well. The finish is short and malty with a lightly bitter hops aftertaste. Just average. TAR (2011), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA Dec 18, 2004 cask conditioned: Hazy peach. Densely puffed ivory head. Earthy hops, bready malt, and toffee aroma. Light diacetyl. Slick body. Somewhat gritty in texture. Well balanced between fruity esters and lightly toasted malt with hints of fig sweetness and peach acidity. Unclean with touches of diacetyl suppressing much of the hop brightness. Slightly chalky, flowery hop-accented finish of muted bready malt notes kissed with a salty anise flare. Ho hum.
