Commercial Description:

Weird! Tapped a 5L keg for a party, malty with a light nutty taste. The last evening before the owner change, we tapped a 10L keg. It was very different, but still good. Darker with a evident dark chocolate taste. Thats weird.

On tap at the Brouhaha, dark mahogany color, with some reddish highlights and a beige head, toasted , grainy malt nose, with a sweet maltiness accent, a mild nutty caramel acent, a hint of fruitiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with an,earthy, grainy, raw toasty, biscuity, caramelized malt character, when she gets warmer a graham’s cookie accent is emerging, with a faint nutty flavor, with a mild flowery hop leafiness and grassiness, leading towards a malty, hop bittering finish.

[1423-20080530] Tap. Not much aroma other than mild beery grains. Clear, dark brown red body with a quick creamy off-white head. Mild grainy malt flavour has a bit of toast notes and a long grainy finish. Medium body is smooth. Mild, repeatable, average.

A clear brown ale with a thin lacing off white head. Aroma of flour and water paste, with chocolate and mineral notes. In mouth, a good roasted malt with popcorn, cereals. Very interesting but the aroma is off putting. On tap at Brouhaha, May 2008.

2008-05-30. Dark brown body with a small tan head that lacks endurance. Mild aroma, sweet malt, mild nutty notes, dry toasty malt. (6+) Nice amber highlights on the edges catch the light. (3+) Flavour is mild, dry malt with touch of toasty and roasty malt, its you know, brown ale flavoured. Average palate. Straightforward, serviceable example of the style. Not spectacular, its on the mild side but its quaffable which is probably the idea. On Tap, Vices et Versas, Montreal

Objectively speaking: A thin and rather watery take on the brown ale style drank on draught at Brouhaha.
I like: It drinks as easily as it can be, but fails to be exciting at that. Competent nutty and caramel allusions. Crystal clean.
I dislike: Excessively thin. Trace hops.
