Rich aroma - earthy, toasty, molasses, halva, nuts...and not the cheap version of any of these but the best stuff around. The flavour carries all of these same elements in the same quality, plus a little woodiness. Rich and complex with bright, defined flavours at the apex of their respective spectra, this is a hakapik to my previous concepts of how good a scotch ale can be. Attractive dry malt aroma, bit of spicy raisin. Thick in mouth. It has a salt and vinegar aroma. It’s ok, a bit intense and thick.
