larsniclas (2795), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 10, 2003 A very light, sourish, very yeasty and rather fresh one.
Sourish and sweet.
JorisPPattyn (4275), Antwerpen, Belgium Aug 25, 2008 Little head, big-bubbled, over dark golden beer. Grainy, perfumed, sweet-alcoholnose. Bitter-sweet, almondy, cheap alcohol taste - awful. Sharp alcohol-warming flavour and MF. Very poor - doesn’t deserve the moniker "Double Bock". Malt Liquor nails it. Thanks to Stefaan! janir (161), Oulu, Finland Aug 17, 2008 Very pale yellow color with quickly vanishing soapy head. Aroma is sweet malty with some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty and alcoholic, a bit fruity also. Light-bodied and softly carbonated palate. Theis (2039), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 Can at Sune’s sommerhus. Clear yellow - white head. Corn, syrup, goldøl, alcoholic, fusel, hay, grass, metallic, candlewax. Plain..... bager (2027), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 28, 2008 Canned. Clear and kinda yellow in colour with a medium sized head. Malty and quite alcoholic with notes of metal, grass, hay and bread. Thin bodied. FatPhil (2090), Espoo, Finland Jun 14, 2008 500ml bottle (Rimi, Tallinn)
Strawy yellow, no lasting head. Slightly sweet gluey aroma. Taste not dissimilar. Moderate sweet light malt, with a hint of corn, and a touch of marzipan. Hops kick in for quite a bitey finish, perhaps a little harsh in the context. Covers 8% pretty well, actually quite subtle, but heading towards boring. Better than the ’malt liquor’ moniker categorisation suggests.
