Smoky nose with teases of cherries and coffee. Restrained toast and cookie flavors at first, evolving into a roasty sensation with light grape acidity and finishing with light coffee bitterness into a chocolate aftertaste. Oily in the mouth with prickling carbonation and a medium weight.
What’s there is good, but it’s mostly sharp smoke and roast with little intensity otherwise.
50 cl bottle, best before 04 April 2009.
Medium sized, creamy, light tan head floats on a clear, matte, medium brown body. The aroma is surprisingly light all the way around, primarily focusing on cherries, cocoa powder, watered down instant coffee an peanuts. In the background, something like rubbing alcohol on cotton balls. Light to moderately sweet tasting of light caramel and watered down coffee. No acidity of any sort to be found. Finishes kind of woody, water and then limps away. Light instant coffee aftertaste. Medium-light bodied with a watery texture and very average carbonation. Flat and dull; nothing offensive, but no reward for consumption. 50cl bottle, bbe 21.07.08.

The color is black, but not pitch black. The foam is quite large and fluffy, a bit dirty. Fairly faint aroma with chocolate, nuts and roasted malt.
A little bit weak flavor, some caramel, chocolate and roasted malt. Unfortunately, the end feels pretty thin and watery, not much aftertaste. BelgiskOlklub (419), Viby J, Denmark
