pours dark brown, light mocha head.
Aroma and taste, malty with good notes of chocolate that is not overly bitter. Some faint touch of coffee and roast. Sweet with a lactose/cream like mouthfeel and some caramel. TaktikMTL (2745), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Mar 30, 2009 En fût. (Rating #2271) Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 13, 2009 Served nitro at this location, but not so at Ragtime. Lots of tan lacing and the characteristic thick and stable nitro head. Nitro affects the aroma, which includes pleasant charcoal notes. Creamy nitro mouthfeel. Lots of cocoa throughout. Smooth and good. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 10, 2009 Near black with a nitro head. Pruney aroma with light chocolate accents and slight fruitiness. Good chocolate malt character with light dark fruit notes to add some nuance. Smooth body. Off-dry finish. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Feb 9, 2009 on nitro-pours a brown head and black color with red tint. Aroma is roasty dark malt-molasses, hint of acidic hops. Taste is roasty dark malt-molasses/chocolate, secondary earthy/acidic hops. Mild carbonation. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Dec 30, 2008 Black pour with a light tan head. Mostly roasted malt and a bit of chocolate in the nose. Flavor is similar. Slightly chalky at first, but this fades out for a nice chocolate/roast finish. Decent mouthfeel, but a little on the thin side. Pretty good.
