I can see it's porter-esqueness; fairly rich with a pretty big roasty sweetness. Good stuff. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Draught. Pours dark brown/black with a creamy head. Looks great. Aroma is full of dark chocolate, roasty malts, and coffee. Flavor is sweet chocolate, coffee beans, and a bit of hoppy bitterness. Manages to be, in turns, both sweet and bitter, and although the balance can be a bit strange, it’s quite enjoyable indeed. Hoss (602), Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2007 Nitro... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Terrific retention. Mocha aroma. The flavor is of coffee and chocolate. Moderately burnt and bitter. Lightly acidic. Medium-bodied and oily with soft carbonation. Finishes bitter, malty (caramel/toffee) and then dry. Pruney aroma with light chocolate accents and slight fruitiness. Good chocolate malt character with light dark fruit notes to add some nuance. Smooth body. Off-dry finish.
