Fantastic retention. The aroma is of caramel, pine and grapefruit. The flavor is of a solid caramel or Munich malt backbone yielding to numbing, bitter hops. No residual sweetness. Full-bodied and silky with prickly carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, dry finish. Very pleasant surprise! Tmoney99 (4797), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 17, 2005 Draft. Color was a reddish amber with medium frothy head. Aroma was complex hops with a tone of citrus. The flavor and finish was not a strong as the aroma and the finish was small and short. this is a house favorite. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

This draft brew was enjoyed at the brewery in Saint Augustine Florida. This brew poured a small head of fine to large sized mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a transparent light brown colored uncarbonated body and a fair lace. The aroma was mildly malted while the mouthfeel was tingly from the hops. The flavor was malty, hoppy and contained some caramel and red beer notes to it. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

This flavor of this beer reminded me more of a true Pale Ale than an Amber Ale. It had a small sized white head that contained fine-medium sized bubbles that quickly and completely dissipated. The body was softly carbonated and transparent with a red hue. The nose was hoppy with a bitter and hoppy flavor. The mouthfeel was fairly smooth and somewhat dry. This was a medium bodied beer in my opinion with sparse lacing. bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 3, 2005 Draft. Reddish color with a big off-white head. Citrus hop aroma with some malt. Balanced hoppy/malty flavor but a somewhat strange aftertaste - not unpleasant, just strange and I can’t put any words to it. Easy to drink if you don’t get hung up on the strangeness.
