16 oz can. Pours a deep amber with a fizzy large bead head and a little lace. Nutty light stale malt, light toasted malts, oxidation and a bit metallic. Flavor has a lot more metal- steely- iron like light dry grain, crackery and papery oxidation. Lightly sweet and a bitter finish, but overall it is too old and metallic.

Bottle. Clear reddish-brown color. Small off-white head. Sweet caramel and coffee/mocca aroma. Flavor is toasted malts and caramel. Light hopped and medium bodied. Smooth mouthfeel. Aass have made this Münchener for nearly 150 years now... and the 2006 version is probably the most drinkable Norwegian-brewed "Bayer" at the moment.

330ml bottle from <a href=http://www.meny.no/butikker/default.as target=blank>Meny in Oslo, Norway. Clear brown in colour, lasting beige coloured head, some nice lacing. The aroma was of bittersweet chocolate, very light molasses, light caramel malt roast, some licorice. The flavour was malty (chocolate, caramel/toffee), medium sweetness, small roast. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a light bitterness, dry at the very end. Not bad just not really interesting.

Deep dark red body, smallish creamy offwhite head. Slightly acidic, spicy aroma. Cinnamon? Pepper? Lovely, deep, sweetish malty cinnamon taste with roasty cinnamon aftertaste. Quite complex. Roasty pepper taste lingers. An excellent bayer! Easily the best in Norway. (0.5l on tap.)

Dark brown in colour. Dense beige head with lasting foam. Malty aroma. Dark chocolate in a corny flavour. Metallic notes. Dry and short finish. (Two 330ml bottles with Finn and Catweazle at a drinking session 11.04.2006)

Bottle 0,33l. Dark red-brown. A white lasting head. Unvaried sourish watery taste with some metallic hints throughout.
