Pours much like a cola, but with a creamier, more lasting head; translucent. I found the nose big and sweet and earthy; flavor is a good match, slightly burnt and smoked in the middle and somewhat acidic and hoppier at the end. Very warming. Well-above average bock.

Beatiful red-brown colour. Nice, slightly off-white head. Not a particularly big aroma. Quite firm and malty, sweetish however, a tad sticky, slight acidic/ bitter finish, caramelly, raisiny quite nice, leaves a nice flavour in your mouth.

Deep mahogany, minimal head. Dark chocolate, raisins, cherries, marzipan, a hint of espresso. Truly wonderful.

Sweet, molasses aroma, deep garnet, tiny toffee head. Extra sweet malt and caramel flavour, good bitterness in the after taste. Sweet, creamy, syrupy, very little carbonation, almost like a malt beverage? Very enjoyable though!

Attractive dark brown color, nice spicy aroma. Great malt flavor. Anise and liquorice as well as cara malt sweet/roasty flavors. A gorgeously malty bock.

Though I’d hate to live in the socialist ’utopia’ that is modern Norway, I could perhaps stomach paying 50% of my wages to the State if Aass was my local brewery. Tastes more like a doppelbock to me, yet no alcohol is evident. It’s fairly sweet throughout. Who knew the Norwegians had such a winner on their hands.
