I found the nose big and sweet and earthy; flavor is a good match, slightly burnt and smoked in the middle and somewhat acidic and hoppier at the end. Very warming. Well-above average bock. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

Quite firm and malty, sweetish however, a tad sticky, slight acidic/ bitter finish, caramelly, raisiny quite nice, leaves a nice flavour in your mouth. Admiral (524), Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2002 Sweet, molasses aroma, deep garnet, tiny toffee head. Extra sweet malt and caramel flavour, good bitterness in the after taste. Sweet, creamy, syrupy, very little carbonation, almost like a malt beverage? Very enjoyable though! heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Tastes more like a doppelbock to me, yet no alcohol is evident. It’s fairly sweet throughout. Who knew the Norwegians had such a winner on their hands.
