Nice caramel and spicy aroma with notes of rye bread. Nutty flavours, again the notes of spicy notes of rye, some sweet caramel, but still quite well-balanced. Texture is grainy and somewhat watery. Not at all bad. espenra (294), Oslo, Norway

It poured an amber colour with a big foamy head that settles down nicely in the glass. The aroma smells of caramel and malts. It tastes of caramel, malts and raisins. It has a slightly metallic aftertaste, but that could also be because it was direct from the fridge and served colder than reccommended. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Bottled. Amber colour, rich head. Flowery caramel aroma. Medium swet with rounded mouthfeel. Resiny hops provide some bitterness, but it remains rather simple. Fairly wel balanced with some pleasing hop character, but I guess more practice is needed before an old lager brewery can make really good ales. larsga (2969), Oslo, Norway
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 15, 2007 Medium white head. Deep copper body. Sweetish lightly roasty aroma, quite faint. Sweetish, roasty caramel and chocolate taste with nutty notes. Initially very mild; the roastiness sets in late. Dry, chocolatey, grassy aftertaste. Papery background throughout. This isn’t bad, but not very special, either. (0.33l bottle.) KnutAlbert (3216), Oslo, Norway
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 10, 2007 A nutty beer with a fair bit of malty aroma. Well balanced, and it should be a fine beer to have with food. They call it a pale ale, but with the low level of bitterness, I would put this down as a mild - or maybe a browna le.
Not outstanding, but compared to all the lager swill from the Norwegian macros, this is a decent beer. Furseth (1333), Kungälv, Sweden

Light sweet malty and nutty aroma. Notes of dusty hops. Taste is semi-dry with lightly roasted dark malts. Modest hopbitterness. Dry, chalky aftertaste. Light body plus. Dry and slight hopbitter end. Quite nice, but just a little too mellow.
