fobar (50), Søgne, Norway Oct 18, 2009 500ml can. Copper colored body with egg-white head. Caramel aroma and taste. Not bad at all! Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 23, 2009 500ml can. Dark golden body with a big, lively tan head. Aroma is mild caramel. Flavor is refreshing but a bit sweet, some caramel, rather one-dimensional and overcarbonated. Thin body and short finish. Have a feeling of flushing my mouth with CO2, couldn’t finish. Rune (2744), Tromsø, Norway Jul 30, 2009 500ml can from Centra Colosseum Park in Oslo. Deep, golden-amber body. Rocky white head that lasts for a while. Watered and a rather metallic smell of caramel malts. Flavoured with carefully roasted caramel malts, some dry fruits and hints of bitter grain to the ending. Soft carbonated. Dry in the mouth, still leaving a diluted impression. Neither fish nor fowl (shared with Eva, Tromsø 29.07.2009). gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 18, 2009 Can . Dark golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, caramel. Flavour is fruit, malt, caramel, hop. Medium body. OK beer, but also a little bit boring. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Apr 11, 2009 50 cl can at home - thanks to yngwie. Clear amber color, fine beige head. Aroma is sweet and caramel malty. The flavor is the same, with only hints of hops. Not bad, but boring. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 7, 2009 Can. It pours a clear, dark golden body with two fingers of off-white, lasting head. Caramel-sweetish nose with some hops in the background, giving a fruity touch. Sweet, caramel flavor with some hoppy bitterness, but not much. A little too gazzy I think, but with good fullness. Medium lenght finish with the same flavors found initially. It’s a quite decent beer, and for the regular Aass drinkers I bet it’s borderline too much. If it was me, I wouldn’t be proud to make a mediocre beer for my 175th anniversary, even though it’s flawless. Yes, it’s sort of tasteful, but only in comparison to a pale lager. Actually it’s rather one dimensional. Wouldn’t have much trouble downing a few though. (090407) KnutAlbert (3101), Oslo, Norway Mar 24, 2009 Canned.
Nice dark color, candyfloss head.
Decent malty body, but the hops probably had a day off when they brewed this one. Short finish.
A puzzling design flaw - the can does not clearly say the name of the beer .
I doubt this will survive 2009. Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Mar 3, 2009 500 ml can. Copper colour. Crystal clear. Tall white fluffy head that clings to the glass. Dry grain malt aroma and a floral hop aroma. Light-bodied, but there is a nice toffee-like malt flavour. Weak hop bitterness with hints of metal. Watery texture. It is light and nicely drinkable, but it is far from complex.
