May 5, 2004 Bottle pours reddish copper with a medium frothy off-white head and decent lacing. Fairly grainy on the nose, light malts too. Forwardly malty and grainy with subtle spices. Mouthfeel is somewhat velvety, at least moreso than any other Aass offering. An enjoyable sweetness on the finish. Wow, not half bad!

Nov 15, 2003 A new "klasse D" Christmas brew from Aass, much better than the "Julebrygg" they introduced last year. Beautiful deep copper colour, very good and thick head. Aroma of malts, oak and spices. Malty flavour, a bit thin as expected from a "klasse D" beer - still one of the best Norwegian beers of this ABV class. Sweet, but not too much. Decent.

May 10, 2006 Tested 17/3-06. Dark red body, with a nice creamy foam. Aroma of malyness and saaz hops in the end. Lots of malt and a little bit of bitternes in the finish. Medium body.

Nov 25, 2005 Big, offwhite, somewhat creamy head; deep dark red body. Sweet malty aroma with notes of straw- or grass-like hops. Taste is full of sweet malts initially, followed by sweet, caramel and chocolate malts, and relatively mild grassy hops. Overall, an OK beer. Ok for Christmas, ok for any other time. Not that interesting.

Oct 22, 2006 An amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is very light with notes of caramel and grain. The flavor is acidic malty with primary notes of caramel, and a dry slightly roasted end.
