Commercial Description:
Sweet, caramel aroma. Clean, crisp taste, and an almost dry aftertaste. Interesting and complex. Very flavorful with strong malt presence.

Super malty flavor and aroma. Grainy tasting after you get through the malt shock, then sort of molasses-y and woody. Grainy palate. Decent, but I’m not overly impressed.

This attractive dark, reddish brown brew was the highest rated Winter beer at a tasting I hosted a week ago. On the Ratebeer scale, it averaged a 4.2 overall score among 10 raters and beat out the Winter offerings from the following brewers (in order): Full Sail, Anderson Valley, Hales, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, Deschutes, Redhook, Pete’s, Summit, Lake Superior and Shiner. On my list, it tied for 4th, with Sierra Nevada’s 2002 Celebration and Deschute’s Jubelale tied for #1.

This was a decent beer, but didn’t make me think of a Vienna. Sweet on the tongue and almost wood like. Not their best.

color is reddish/amber. head is initially quite large but thins out...lasting though. oak, malts, caramel and a touch of nutmeg was picked up by this nose. flavor is sweet with some woody notes as well. overall, surprisingly thin, but did have a decent aroma in my opinion.

Vienna? Didn’t seem to "Vienna" to me. Nice nose, very woody and malty with residual spiciness. Has the usual caramel malts, but they’re quite good here.

Amber with a thick creamy head and a delicate, but nice malt smell. The flavor was of malt and carmel. A well-balanced, highly drinkable, good tasting vienna.

Very light aroma, sweetness and not much else discernible. Sweet flavor, hints of oak and malt, but pretty light for a winter. Not bad, but nothing special.
