Pleasant aroma, but could have had much more hops and more malt sweetness. Lacking in body, which makes the beer taste watery. Some mellow notes of roasted malts. Disappointing. yngwie (4974), Kristiansand, Norway

Mostly roasted and light sweet malt in both aroma and flavor. Bitterness in the finish. (051123) larsga (2969), Oslo, Norway

dark winy red body. Sweet aroma of syrup, cinnamon, and some roast
malts. Aroma is quite thick and satisfying. Roasty taste, with a dry
finish, which lingers in the mouth, together with the roastiness. On
further acquaintance, a bit watery. A good Christmas beer; could use a
bit more sharpness, but a good effort. Certainly better than expected. (0.33l bottle.) CaptainCougar (5517), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Aged for a few years: Pours a muddy dark copper with some off-white bubbles. Aroma is lightly skunked, but still has a lot of sweet, chocolatey caramel malt and dark fruity complexity. Starts with lots, of sugary malt, dark fruits and decent complexity. This is probably 2+ years old, but has held up well. goldtwins (4083), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 4, 2005 Let’s start by saying this bottle is probably a few years old. I wonder if it is still made. Poured a murky brown color. Aroma of lightly skunked malt at the start. As the beer warmed this became replaced by creamy chocolate drink (almost like yahoo), very light spice, and aged malt. Flavor is thin and old like a watered down cold hot cocoa. There is a touch of spice on the finish. This beer was definitely on its last legs. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA
