Aroma of lightly spicey yeast and pale malt. Hazy gold color with a white head that reduced rapidly. Rather thin in body with fizzy, but non-biting, carbonation. The flavor seems a bit orange with light, but peppery, spice. There’s a bit of light wood, or perhaps hop bitter. Crisp, clean and refreshing. Malt? Not enough to provide a great amount of sugar. It’s pretty dry into the finish, and the wood/hop builds a bit over time. Very good drink.

Draught @ 9th Belgian Beer Weekend, Brussels. Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, horse blanket, earth, moderate malty, toasted. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Fresh and easy to drink. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (010907)

Pours a barely hazed gold that starts with a nice white head that falls to nothing. Nose is strong with yeast and just a touch of decaying apple skins.Slight clay character as well. Flavor is light besides the distinct yeasty edge to it. There isn’t much else besides that going on here. It almost seems a bit too clean and one sided. On the end there is a bitter tone that I am not really appreciative of. Feel is decent. A fair amount of bubble on the tongue. But the overkill of flavor seems to influence everything here. Overall a decent brew. Even and interesting enough to keep one’s attention, but not really so interesting that it is worth going back to - or one to lament never being able to try.

33cL bottle (BB Mar/08). Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), moderately yeasty (basement, cobwebs), with light notes of gum, pepper, and dried pineapple. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Not much to it, but the yeast character is actually promising...it’s a prominent and attractive strain. I wanted to like this more, just for its potential, but it is what it is.

0.33 l bottle. Golden color with fluffy diminishing head. Malty, fruity and spicy aroma with clove, pepper and herbal hops. The malt, spices and hops continue in the flavor with some sharpness and dull notes coming from spiciness. Very ordinary Belgian blonde.

Lacks the special ooh pm, that makes a Belgian ale really special. Its has low taste of malts and low hops. a slight wang at the end, makes it barley drinkable.

The aroma is malty in a corn way. In the aroma there is also yeast, fruit, and spices. The appearance is golden with an average head for the style. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is OK. Overall it’s very nice.

Gold with soft white head. Big spice aroma with a lot of fruit. Dry and crisp on the palate. Wheat and yeast in the aroma. Apricot flavor in the finish was really pleasent. Very well built beer that impressed me with its subtler flavors.
