Bottle. Pour a clear golden with a one finger white head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma of yeast, pilsner malt, and light citrus.Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Not very complex but still very good.

11.2 Bottle. Labeled Heylissem Blonde Sur Lie. Pours a clear bright yellow with a white head. Lagerish aroma with malt some yeast and slight hops. Lightly flavored but yet still pretty heavy on the palate. Tons of malt and yeast phenols.

Poured a clear effervescent goldenw ith a fizzy white head. Light aroma of toffee, some grass, a bit of lemon. Taste is crisp and light hoppy with the grassy hops coming through most predominantly, followed by some light citrusy lemon, perhaps a bit of toffee and a hint of dryness. Very little alcohol character. Not extremely complex, but crisp and refreshing. The hoppiness is a nice touch.

1999 bottle at Kulminator. Hazy, dirty golden, good creamy off-white head. Raisins and cellar aroma. Flavours are dominated by dry cellar notes, but raisins are there throughout. Balanced and harmonious. Medium to light body. Enjoyable with mainly aged characteristics.

Bottle labeled Heylissem Blonde Sur Lie. Poured into a small La Trappe goblet glass. Pours with a small head and a macro-yellow shade of golden, pretty clear with just a bit of cloudiness. Aroma is pilsner malt strong definitely going in the direction of Duvel, a lemon-y, snappy, light cookie dough, very refreshing, and a perfect summer Belgian Ale. Taste is similar with a light cornish/macro flavor but an overall light Duvel flavor. Finishes lightly bitter with light European hop flavor. Definitely thirst quenching and returnable/recommended for just that.

Bottled. Pours a bit hazy, golden-orange with a nice, but diminishing white head. Fruity aroma with some banana, spices and sweetness. Sweet, fruity flavor with spices, some malt and hay. Fullbodied, sweet in the mouth, with a quite bitter, long finish. A nice beer that I appreciated, but it is maybe a bit ordinary. (070331)

Bottled. Clear golden, creamy head. Aroma of vanilla honey and grain. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Light-medium bodied. Rather simple flavour with mustard and grain. Low bitterness.
