Pours cloudy brown with a medium head of large bubbles that dissipates quickly. Aroma has a metallic quality with sweet dark fruits also present. Mouth feel is medium with less carbonation that the initial pour would suggest. Flavor is malty with some caramel and funk present. Not bad, but it reminds me of one of my early home brews.

Deep ruby brown. Yeasty, roasted malt aroma, somewhat floral. Roasted malt, lightly sweet flavor. Well carbonated, not very bitter. Nothing outstanding in flavor, good mellow dubbel.

750 ml. bottle from Bottle Barn. Aroma is yeasty, roasted malt and hints of dark fruits. Arguably floral hop. Very dark brown color with a tan head that really lasts. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. The flavor is something plummy, almost cherry, with really dark roasted malt. There’s earthiness. Some light fruit notes kick in. The finish is fairly dry, and the earthiness gains a woody note. A hint of Guinness toast as well. Just excellent.

This is highly carbonated. It burns my throat with the bubbles. The sweet bread maltiness comes with dates and raisins. I swallow and it messes with my tummy.

Pours a transparent dark copper with a nicely-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of sweet toasty doughy dark caramel malts and some Belgian yeast. Body starts with nice malty sweetness and a slightly drier finish. A pretty good abbey dubbel.
