Flaske. Blond klar øl med et typisk trippel skumhoved. En tand for parfumeret i duften, og en tand for ubalanceret i alkoholen i smagen til at være en rigtig god trippel.

750 ML bottle named Heylissem purchased at the Friendly Mini Mart in Lakewood. Bottom shelf purchase -literally, it looks like it had been sitting there for a while. Oh well, ya never know until you try it. There is a nice grassy musky scent to it, not spoiled or old. Flavor is surprisingly rewarding, gentle spice and sugars mingle around with a mild lemon grassy taste. Simple and subtle, hiding the 9% pretty well.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a hazy yellow with a lingering ring of off white foam. Aromas of pineapple, pear, spice and a bit of yeastiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of pear, apple cider, light honey and light spice with a crisp cidery finish.

This beer is surely underrated as of my writing this. It smacks (in a good way) of that I-know-it’s-from-Belgium quality and one might marvel of the elaborance with which it must have been created with such brotherly love by the goodly monks of the abbaye. Sláinte, as we Irish say!

Bottle at Coles in Buffalo. Golden yellow with a white head. Nice spicy and yeasty aroma, with additional fruity sweetness. The flavor is very similar. Sweet fruit, a touch citric, spice and yeast.

2009-01-24. Lightly hazy pale yellow body with a nice white head that fades. (3+) Mild aroma of muted pale malt and fruity character not unlike apple juice. Flavour is disappointing, watery, light pale malt, fruity apple juice again. Average to thin palate. Meh. Overall thinness was probably amplified by the fact that I sampled it in the midst of some heavy hitters, but still, it was very much on the mild side and I am shocked that it was 9% abv. Bottle at Coles Rare Beer fest. Pale yellow pour. Aromas of ripe fruit, sweet malts. Seemed more of a Blonde ale than a tripel. Extremely drinkable & enjoyable but lacks the spiciness & complexity of a true tripel

very smooth and balanced, rich spicey yeast, a nice Belgian. Nice yeasty head.
