Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Spicy dark fruit aroma. Deep burgandy color with a medium, fading off-white head. Flavor starts dark fruit with black cherry and plum followed by a light sweet red wine flavor and a tangy peppery mouth feel. The finish is lightly dry and a lightly bitter. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy with lively carbonation.

(750ml bottle, BB 03/10/07) Pours a mahogany body with a small beige head. Aroma of plum, raisins, grape juice, and mustiness. Flavor of sweet plum, malt, and earthiness with a dry finish.

Not a bad Abbey Tripel, got better as it warmed. Dark fruit, plum, and malty flavors. Finishes clean and smooth.

Ruby hued mahogany color with a moderate light tan head. Licorice, toffee, currants, dark cherries and wet wood. Some interesting aromas, but I really don’t enjoy it. Likely the licorice that spoils it for me. Simple flavors of light caramel, candi and figs. Quite light and airy in feel. For 9% this certainly hides it well, but the flavors are also hidden. Light clove and white pepper in the finish. LInger returns to a mild licorice and light fruit. Picks up slightly more pronounced flavors as it warms. A simple belgian amber.

Chocolate and grapes in the aroma. Sweet, sugary, alcoholic flavor. Chocolate and pear. The sugar hides the alcohol somewhat, but this also destroyes the balance. Disappointing.

Musty, barnyard aroma with notes of cobwebs, red meat and soy. Clear amber coloured body with decent, fine bubbled tan head that covers lastingly and leaves some lace. Woody, musty pear flavour with moderate to strong leafy bitterness. Very dry medium body with strong, lively, prickly carbonation. Bottle (BB020106) sampled at Den Tatoverede Enke in Copenhagen.

Bottled. Clear amber. Neutral aroma. Sweet with clean mouithfeel, notes of yeast and a dryish finish. Incredibly neutral for a Belgian ale, what did they do with all flavours?
