Aroma is moderately sweet, plum, some anise, spice, light cardamom. Taste is moderately sweet, plum, cookie, some toffee, cinnamon. Medium body, some effervescence. Alcohol very well hidden. Ok beer, though I’m not sure how this is considered a tripel. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Deep sweet malty aroma with light plumminess and a bit of light berry character as well. Light rum/molasses. Soft spiciness through the middle with lots of sweet toffeeish flavours. Some chocolatey notes with a fair bit of yeasty spiciness. As it warms, more yeasty fruitiness comes to the front with cherry and berry being the most obvious. Dark caramelly finish. Pretty tasty brew. I definitely wouldn’t call it a tripel... more of a dark strong ale, but I think it is very underrated. Palidor19 (1780), Brandon, Florida, USA

However this beer does seem to lack the proper flavors that would make this unworthy of a Belgium Triple. Malts have flavors of caramel and rich malts. low hops presence but the malts makes a great drinking nick76 (2665), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2007 Updated: Dec 13, 2007The aroma is good. It’s got caramel, toasted malt, spice, fruit, and yeast. The appearance is deep amber - brown with a decent head. The flavor is like the aroma with a toffee like element. The palate is OK. Overall this is a very good beer. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2007 Take 41 beer geeks who mostly have quadruple digit ratings and this beer gets slammed with a 49. Aromatically this starts off strong with that triple aroma of malts, fruits and alcohol. There is a lot of carbonation upon my sip, just the way I like it. Granted the carbonation overshadows the touches of plums, grapes, wood (almost like the cork swam in the beer), and dark cherries. Maybe I have a sweet tooth but I can’t say I don’t enjoy this beer. Its too bad the aroma is so much better than the flavor. I acquired this at the NEPA case split club last Friday.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Bottle. Ruby brown beer with a light beige/brown head. Caramel, slight roast aroma with some spice and dried fruit. Malty, earthy yeast with alcohol, caramel and dried fruit flavor. Body is thinner than expected. Alcohol present. The first few sips disapointed after the aroma, but after a bit it’s not that bad - but still needs somethng more (and less alchol presence). gunnfryd (3593), Kristiansand, Norway
