Jul 17, 2009 750 ML bottle purchased at World Market in Redding, CA. Color: Medium Brown. Aroma / Bouquet: Chocolate, cocoa, toffee. Flavor: Can we say liquid chocolate? Palate: medium to fullness of mouthfeel. What a great beer! It is worth more than the rating that Rate Beerians are giving it. Praise the LORD for the Trappist & Abbey ales!!

Aug 24, 2008 Dark brown with a pale tan head. This was an excellent Belgian dark ale. Just the right mix of sweet, malt, and alcohol flavors. It was very foamy, and bubbled out of the bottle after opening. A great alternative to champagne.

Aug 23, 2009 Bottle. pours a mahogany brune with an off white head. Very spicy with grand cru like yeast character, dark fruit plum and raisin like fruit. Tangy and sweet. nice belgian brew.

Sweet, smells a bit like brown suger with some spices. This is also quite nice. Interestingly, the heylissem bottle said this was nine percent.

Dark ruby color with big tanned creamy head, lace. Roasted, woody aroma. Medium to full body. Sweet fruity (plums) flavor with roasted malts and molasses. Alcoholic touch in the liquerish palate. Currently underrated here (average 2.91)!

Oct 8, 2007 deep brown with a lively yellowish head and nice lacing. spicy, licorice, and candied plum, other dark fruit aroma. flavor is loaded with pear, licorice, plum, chocolate, spices, cherry, berries. wonderful beer. medium bodied. surprised at the low rating. not really a tripel but it tastes good.

Sep 19, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours dark orange to brown, hazy, with a creamy off-white head. Mild yeast fruity aroma. Light caramel flavour in the first flavour impression, followed by a mild sweetness and then a mellow yeasty fruity and mellow flavour before the finish. Smooth and nice. Light yeasty and caramel sweet finish with a mild spice note in the far finish. Smooth and creamy lasting mouthfeel.

Apr 18, 2005 Bottle. Red-brown with large off-white head. Over-ripw fruit, plums, berries, light tartness, cork, madeira, complex! Medium body. Found this to be surprisingly good.
