(750ml bottle) Large and rocky beige head atop clear, deep brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, plum, some anise, spice, light cardamom. Taste is moderately sweet, plum, cookie, some toffee, cinnamon. Medium body, some effervescence. Alcohol very well hidden. Ok beer, though I’m not sure how this is considered a tripel.

Aug 24, 2008 Dark brown with a pale tan head. This was an excellent Belgian dark ale. Just the right mix of sweet, malt, and alcohol flavors. It was very foamy, and bubbled out of the bottle after opening. A great alternative to champagne.

Aug 16, 2008 Clear garnet with a fleeting head. Mild aroma is sweet earthy malts with molasses and rootbeer spice. Medium body. Nice earthy, yeasty dubble ale flavors with molasses, rootbeer spice. No hint of the 9% abv. Good dubble here.

May 10, 2008 Bottle. Clear medium brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, light hoppy, moderate to light heavy yeasty, anis. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (060408)
