Oct 18, 2008 Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a clear gold with white head. Aroma of apple. Flavor was actually kinda boring, very faint apple and signs of caramel. Mouth feel is light body, high carbonation. Overall, I thought this was kinda boring in flavor....kinda bland.

Oct 9, 2008 Bottle@Home. Malty, apple, some veggies and a hint of citrus aroma. Golden color, white head, good lace. Very sweet, light bitter, very malty, apple, just a hint of citrus in the finish. Full and smooth. Flavorful, well balanced, filling.

Oct 7, 2008 nice, but boring aroma; translucent gold body, orange highlight, fairly active, creamy white head; medium, sweet flavor--gentle balance among spices and flavors; the palate can be a bit oily; good.

Oct 4, 2008 Pours a clear light amber, decent head lasts well and throws a good lace. Aroma was quite yeast accented, spicy and a bit woodsy. Flavor is caramel accented malts, an undefined fruitiness, lots of yeastiness, spicy, woodsy, and a nice bitter hop finish. The yeast is actually rather reminiscent of Unibroue’s house note, which was the first time I had remembered encountering that in a non-Unibroue brew. Nicely done, quite tasty in fact. Should not that this was more of a Belgian Strong than a Biere de garde in flavor.

Sep 23, 2008 Swingtop 750 courtesy cdumler. Amber pour with a medium head. Aroma of candi sugar, fruit and a slightly smoky earthiness. Others trying the same bottle got notes of smoked meat, but I did not. Taste is caramel, stone fruits, candi sugar and spicy hops. Full bodied.

Sep 6, 2008 Good beer, it takes some nice French malts with flavor of fruit and the slightly of the earth. Nice and herbly it works all around.

Sep 6, 2008 The aroma is yeasty and sweet with malt and spice. The appearance is golden with a better than average head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s nice with a slightly fruity finish.
