A little earth to the aroma. This is also quite nice. A bit of coating to it, dryness in the finish and sweet up front.

Bottle courtesy of boutip. Pours gold with a rocky off white head. Smells of wildflowers, perfume, grassy, funky, dry. Tastes spicy and floral with a nice crisp dry spicy finish.

Pours a clear light amber, decent head lasts well and throws a good lace. Aroma was quite yeast accented, spicy and a bit woodsy. Flavor is caramel accented malts, an undefined fruitiness, lots of yeastiness, spicy, woodsy, and a nice bitter hop finish. The yeast is actually rather reminiscent of Unibroue’s house note, which was the first time I had remembered encountering that in a non-Unibroue brew. Nicely done, quite tasty in fact. Should not that this was more of a Belgian Strong than a Biere de garde in flavor.

Unclear orange with a lasting white head. Yeast dominated aroma with bubblegum, pepper, and exotic fruits like mango, melon and pineapple. Dry fruity flavour with a pepper-y dry finish.

Bottle. Pours clear dark yellow with a large, rocky, white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, hay, straw), average hops (flowers, perfume), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of apple and grapes. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

75cl bottle from Carrefour, Calais. Now I knowthat beer shouldn’t be drunk with the eye, but I do like a swing top lid to a big 75 of biere de garde. Gold beer with lasting thick white head. Yeasty, citric, hoppy beer with some gorgeous flavours in the mouth. Deep flavours. Bit of smoke even. Fruits are grapefruit and tangerine. There is some goldensyrup too, to the malts. Lovely hop on the end. Biting and sharp. Citrus too. Superb biere de garde. One of my favourites.

Bottle from Intermarche, Nr Boulogne, France. Gold with a white head. Sweet yeasty aroma. Sweet taste full of malt, spice and alcohol with a little bitterness. Whatever anyone else says, I find myself enjoying every beer I try from Les Brasseurs de Gayant.

Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev, GregClows bottle. Clear amber with a solid, lasting creamy-fluffy white head. funky yeasty aroma, peppery, lots of lemon juice - spicy. Funky citrus and malt taste, plenty of spice and yeast to go around - longish finish - tart. Very thick mouthfeel, not syrupy, just thick - spicy, pungent and only mildly carbonated. Very nice, the more I drank, the more I appreciated it.
