Aroma: Interesting, malty, nutty, hoppy, very nice! Refreshing in a mildly sourish way. Pretty german.
Flavour: milky, mild, sugary, not bad. Perhaps a bit TOO sweet. Hazelnut and orange nectar.
Appearance: clear, orange copper with pale head (frothy and bubbly)
Palate: watery and very slimy. Bizarre. Would probalby gross most people out – haha.

(Bottle) Pours copper amber. Spicy aroma with tones of clove, soft white pepper, vanilla, hints of anise and cedar but also quite fruity with tones of apples, oranges, bananas and some more subtle candied fruit tones. Light caramelly and toasty malt. Undertones of yeast, honey and some floral notes are also present. Yeast, light spices and some fruit in the flavour with a medium to full malt sweetness of honey, sugar, candied fruits and soft caramel. Apples, oranges and, mild white pepper some clove in the flavour as well. Not sticky but too sweet mouthfeel. Medium bodied. This is not a typical Abbey Dubbel and it’s not even a good example of the style.

Copper amberish colour topped with a dense white foam. Quite harmonious and well-integrated aroma of mild pepper, dried oranges, anise, rose-petals, over-riped apples and yeast. Darker flavorwave of caramel, fudge, nuts, mild licorice, canned mandarin, brown sugar, almond and yeast. Smooth is a bit light mouth feel. Ends yeasty and sweet with notes of fudge, nuts and mild anise. Pretty nice one.

Biggish tan head over a dark copper colored body. Smelles toffee and fresh yellow fruits. Whiffs of cookies and mild spices. A pleasant fruit-sweetness in the flavor, along with sweet malts, Christmas-spices and mild bittering hops. Medium body. Feels soft in the mouth. A nice an well balanced beer. (750 ml corked bottle @ RBNAG’07)
