Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle Huge fizzy white head that mostly lasted. Clear sparkling body with a amber colour. Good lacing. Belgium yeast, coriander, spice. pepper, caramel, fruit with an apricot feel to it. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Light sweet flavour with a hint of bitterness. Sweet spicy finish. 25-05-2007

Deep, rich orange colour. A hint of banana on the nose. Very pleasing balance of orange and coriander. Really full palate. Very nicely balanced beer.

This is just superb. Rich, almost buttery aroma. Flavor is a bit more epehmeral than the aroma, but still pronounced. Baking spices and a tiny hint of candied yelllow fruits.

Bottled at Belgobaren, Stockholm. With it’s cloudy golden colour and, small airy head it doesn’t look very appetizing, but looks can deceive. There’s a powerful orange peel aroma. It’s sweet with solid, rounded mouthfeel and evident notes of coriander and seville orange. It’s full flavoured, and though rather sweet it steers well clear of becoming sticky, offering a combination of the drinkability and refreshment of a witbier and the complexity and flavour depth of a strong Belgian golden ale. Finsishes soothing almost completely without biterness.

Murky golden poor with lots of sediments. Creamy off-white head. Aromas of coriander, creme brule, caramel, apple puree, corn, lightly peppered and subtile notes of peaches. Extremely well balanced beer. I’ve never tasted a Witbier with so many flavors. A nice mixed explosion of spices and fruits. Perfect malts and yeasts as are most of the beers from this brewery. Very Satisfied!
