Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

bottle @ biergasthof schiffner. Sweet apple and citrus nose. crystal clear in appearance, if you leave the sediment. light frothy head. bready in flavour but quite zesty and fruity. Smooth palate. good wit.

Yellowish beer with almost no head. Which makes it not very appealing. Aroma is almost undetectable, and for what I can smell not that special. Flavor is that of a very watery beer. Palate is a dry bitterness followed by a sweet aftertaste.

Bottle (cellphone rating). Hazy golden with a light white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, banana and straw. Flavour is sweet again with the oddly placed hints of banana along with grain and some spicyness. Good dry bitter finish.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of spices, pepper, slight coriander, wheat, light grains, and a hint of clove. Poured amber/brown/flaxen/light mud in color with a large, loose, white head that diminished and barely lasted around the edges. Cloudy. Very slightly sparkling. Full of tiny, medium, and huge-sized particles throughout. Kinda looks like diarrhea (cha cha cha). Flavor is light to medium bitter. Tastes of spices, yeast, light pepper, light wheat, and, unfortunately, water. Watery, dry texture. Average carbonation. Slightly sweet, spiced, finish is boring and dry. Bland and boring.

750ml bottle. Deep golden color. Aroma of attic and a monk’s froch. Nice wheat character, lots of grains. very hearty. Notes of lemon, fruit, oak, clove, and bready yeast. finishes with an orange peel flavor. Seems to be a bit stronger than most other Witbier.

pours orange with loads and loads of yeast sediments and particles. as i opened the beer it foamed up, and a lot of the sediment rose to the top. small white head. yellow fruity aroma, also quite dry. flavor is fresh fruity, dry, alc can be tasted, peach, citrus, indeed like a very powerfull witbier. i wonder why rocs beers always have SO much sediment. it’s insane. anyway, definetly one of the best witbier i’ve tasted.

Unclear straw colour; fine head. Sweet fruity aroma. Simple, good. Quickly gone. Slightly sour, not sweet on the tongue. Alcohol well hidden. Watery, tingling. Not very interesting. Wife says second to Hoegaarden, but good. Purchased in Barley Wine.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a hazy deep gold with white fizzy head. Aroma is filled with citrus, fruit, floral, and hops. Flavor of plenty of wheat malt, citrus, floral, hops, nice balanced small hop bitter. Mouth feel is light-medium body, soft, with nice soft high fizzy carbonation. Overall, a very refreshing summer beer (or just whenever you want it).
