Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

bottle-thanks to vyvvy for sharing this fine and unique brew. cloudy orange with a small spritzy white head. funky nose-smells like lots of brettanomices yeast(funk, foot odor). some light citrus in there under all the funk. nice funky flavors which say more saison than Wit. Doesnt have the tartness of a saison so thats the main difference. pretty complex, but definately not a wit i could drink all the time. this thing has a very round body which was fuller than most of the style. cool!

750. You can’t really ask for a nicer-looking beer. Pours deep hazy copper with a towering platinum blonde head of suds and mousse that falls to whipped-egg-white stalgmites but it takes a while. Rich funky green apples and cherries on the nose. No visible carb. Subdued attack; low-medium body, light carb, subtle flavors. Green apples and pears are there, and they carry through the mid-palate, along with some honey and a little bit of grass. This is a soft, lovely, refreshing wit. Great stuff. Starting to wonder whether I have a crush on Rocs or something.

(07.13.06) One pint 9.4 oz green bottle from Liquorama. 6.8% ABV. Best by 05.08.08. Spicy clove aroma. Poured cloudy dark orange with large white head. No discernable carbonation. Medium-bodied ale that starts dry with light malt/spicy (clove) fruity flavors. Some tartness noted. Finished dry and clean with slight bitterness. Excellent wheat beer with delicate flavor.

Clear golden color with off white head. Mild aroma of Belgian yeast, spice and some wheat. Flavor is on the sweet side initially with wheat and honey. About midway some coriander and cinnamon enter. Near the finish a sour note arises before the flavor fades into the aftertaste where all flavors re-appear and converge and slowly fade away.

Hazy honey gold hue, with a rocky white head, with a yeasty, spicy, fruity of ripe apples and pears, with some zesty citrusy notes of grapefruit, lemon, and a subtle sweet orange peels note, with a pinch of coriander in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with yeasty zesty citrusy character, a smooth wheaty mouthfeeling, nice coriander and nutmeg spiciness accents, with a honeyish candied orange peels note, leading towards a sweet wheaty, fruity spicy finish.

Bottle. Hazzy golden orange color with bubbles and sediment with a nice white head. Spices and yeast aroma. Taste of spice, yeast, ginger and citrus. A very nice Witbeer.
