Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle shared by Chuck - best by 2008. Clear amber body with medium carbonation under a thin white head. Windmill cookie malt aroma with some spicy coriander. Nothing terribly complex in the aroma but it’s still solid. Sweet-forward flavor: light caramel leading to spicy dry orange peel and greel leaf. Dry yeasty finish.

Pours to a thick creamy white head with a hazy copper body. Nice sharp white pepper aromas atop a light sour fruit and mineral water. The flavor is spicy with sugary lemons and lightly sweet and sour grains. The palate is medium bodied, smooth, and easy to drink.

This beer pours a cloudy medium-dark yellow with lively carbonation and a thick head. Aromas include: spicy lemon/citrus, chamomile and straw. The flavor is well-balanced, bright and engaging with an average finish. The palate is moderately viscous and luxurious.

Immense lasting froth above an unclean, orange body. Citrusy, fruity aroma suprises me seeing that this is unspiced, because to me, it stinks of orange peel. Perfectly carbonated body, which elevates flavors. Orange peel spice, with juicy tangerine and tang flavors, citrus fruits, tart wheat and an authentic Belgian feel.

Nice large creamy head, sits on a murky orange body. Nice subtle dry orange peel aroma, some light spiciness as well. Good light and frothy mouthfeel. Very rich citrus taste complimented by some tangy maltiness. Slight sweetness and acidity balances this beer out quite well. Finish has some subdued minerals and earthiness that appear very late. Overall, a very balanced and well made wit that is saison-esqe, quite impressive.

Pours a pale yellow with a large snow white head and quite a few floaties. Produces nice lacing. Aroma is of yeast and spice. Yease giving a bananna and faint clove aroma. Fairly standard aroma. A fruity grape wine character. Active on the palte, tangy, with some malts but an overall feel of tangy fruityness. Nice dry finish. Nice beer, decent complexity. Nice ballance, great finish.
