Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle, Open All Hours, Keswick. A bit unsettled, so a fair haze on this golden ale. Good aromatic spice, with plenty of fruit, particularly apple and grapefruit. Quite a tang in the throat and warming on the way down, but there’s also a mellowness, especially towards the end

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a creamy white head. Little grey floaties moving about. Hay, grain, citrus. Medium bodied, but light and a touch fruity. Finishes lightly, but without much fanfare. Decent, but nothing really memorable.

Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Shady golden, large creamy white head. Fruity orange aroma, with bready yeasty notes, and earthy hops. Some mild pepper spiciness is also there. High carbonation. Fairly dry, low bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange body with a white head. Citrus and wheat with hints of pepper y spices and a light lemon zest. These guys are pretty good across the board in all they do.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Murky orange body with milky head. Nose of chocolate and fruits. Quite a punch for a witbier with serious chocolate notes. Also citrus and pineapple in the mix. Refreshing and creamy. Gets a bit yeasty and spicier towards the end. Nice, as always, from this brewer.
