Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 1, 2007 Bottle from BOE 30-09-07 Poured mid-brown with a tan head. Aroma was bursting with fruits and nuts, plus some roasty malts. Tasted of the aforementioned fruits and nuts with a big ol’ pinch of nutmeg thrown into this sticky, sweet, spicy brew. I rather liked this and consider it a fine beer but I’m a little surprised at how highly it’s rated, maybe I should get another and try it again.
A_R (300), Georgia, USA Aug 29, 2008 Dark brown with a lot of visible sediment and a large, but quickly diminishing head. The ale goes down very smooth, with a plethora of taste on the palate. There is a bit of smoky malts and caramel. This is mixed with a prunish accent and a sugary alcohol in the background. The aftertaste lingers. Very good.
