joss (3144), Garching b. München, Germany Feb 8, 2007 0.25l bottle. Vineous, spiced wooden and light vinegarry aroma. Amber, low head. Lightbodied - overattenuated, wooden and dusty, some coriander. Adding the yeast does not improve the substance a lot.
Wooden aftertaste.
rederic (1444), montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 3, 2008 Slight hazy amber hue, with some chunky floaties of lees swirling around, with a frothy white head, yeasty, fruity nose of ripe apples, pears, with some toasted, honeyed malt avccents with a mild note of nutmeg spiciness, and a light candi sugar sweetness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, orange, peach and marmalade character, with some nice toasty, honeyed sweet malt notes, with a good flowery hop citrusy and leafy accent, with a hint of spiciness, leading towards a malty, hop leafy bittering finish. Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England Sep 9, 2008 330ml bottle at Quinns, 6th September 2008. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma and flavour very similar - peach, candy sugar and soft malts. Decent but not special. Jukkabro (2394), Tampere, Finland Sep 4, 2008 Dark orange colored with hazy appearance. Little yellow head. Rich spiced aroma with lemon, some grainy note also here. Medium bodied. Flavor is even more grainy with still sour lemon, spices and yeast come up nicely. Somehow flat palate. Weird beer with lots of grains but good spices. mirjukka (436), LOHJA, Finland Aug 23, 2008 bottle 750ml at Kaisla Helsinki shared 150808 hazy yellow First sip was wow grainy, sour citrus hops flowers perfume like. I stayed on those atmospheres. Maybe I have to re-rate this later on. FatPhil (2365), Espoo, Finland Aug 16, 2008 Updated: Aug 17, 2008750ml bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki)
Hazy rich yellow, thin head. Soft light grainy aroma, some gentle hopping too. First taste was astounding - very gentle grains, some creaminess, some popcorn-like corn. I know that doesn’t sound so good, but each component was delicious. Later sips were less exciting, wheatier, heading towards a wit, and with a bit of lemon. Very interesting, quite a fun one to drink. Yeast changed very little, maybe added a slight liquorice component. IMHO drink without yeast for a crisper taste.
