Enjoyit (1121), Vadum, Denmark May 14, 2008 Hazy yellow of color with a white foamy head. An aroma of sweets, spice and fruits. A flavor of sweets, spice and hops.
Straling (91), Amstenrade, Netherlands Nov 29, 2008 Bottle 33cl.
Pours a murky golden colour with a good head and great carbonation.
Smell is very hoppy and sour.
Also a bit of bitterness there with some fruits.
Taste is very bitter and fruity perfectly balanced. Fruits are oranges, pineapple and lemon.
Very well balanced and goes down almost without alcohol.
Great blond beer. DruncanVeasey (1814), No. 46, Leicestershire, Belgium Nov 27, 2008 Marmalade pour with fishbowl floaties. Nosing turns up banana esters, Juicy Fruit chewing gum, booze, hint of herbal noble hoppage, orange peel yeastiness, candy cigs, chick pea, Wit-like spice, juniper freshness. Soft with peppery spice (impression), wheaty mellowness, silk, esters of banana, green apple, peaty malt touches, tang of earthy citrus hop. Wheaty biscuit and vanilla afters with some alcohol presence and bitterness. Pretty bog standard yeasty blond. AmEricanbrew (1137), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Nov 20, 2008 Light amber with a frothy head. Big yeasty earthy spice aroma with lemon. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Nice earthy pale malt sweet flavors with lemon and spice. Not too bad. Best by end of 2007 stamped on label. Glouglouburp (2114), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 19, 2008 In short: An offensively bland and annoying Belgian Blonde Ale with more problems than qualities. Bad
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed fresh one month after receiving through private importation straight from the brewery
The look: Clear golden blonde with lots of medium size particles topped by a small white head
In long: Nose has vegetables, even light pickles notes. Taste is wet bread, candy sugar (that really doesn’t sit well with the wet bread), Fluffy body that feels kind of empty. Hops presence is pretty much nil except for from flowers with petals, stems and everything. Honey, ripe white grapes, ripe pineapples, more vegetables. Very short finish. Despite me listing a bunch of flavours the beer is really not tasty and the little it taste is below bland, actually offensive. I couldn’t finish my 750ml. Oh man, what happened here? This is one of my favourite brewery. It’s hard to believe that this mess is a member of the Abbaye des Rocs family, it’s probably adopted, and I wouldn’t be surprised that its real parents are Inbev and Steelback. Magicdave6 (4092), London, Greater London, England Oct 21, 2008 Bottle in Quinns. Alround rating: Yeasty fruity esters, slightly spicey peppery hop character, on the balanced side of belgian triples.
