HogTownHarry (3349), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 28, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Thanks go to Reakt for gifting me this beauty - the London Crew are amazing! Cheers, Ang.. Deep purple-copper pour, large fluffy white but quick-diminishing head. More sharply dry yeast character than fruit, but I get pungent cassis, even a little funky cranberry. The taste is very tart - as much lemon juice as cassis, and it finishes very dry - thin and acidic, it’s over much too quickly but the dry tartness lingers a long time - interesting, but it’s not a favorite; perhaps fresh on tap (if there is such a thing) it would be juicier.

Pours a great, lightly muddy, red with an impressice, creamy, almost white head - slight pinkish edge to it.A great, fruity aroma, definite black currants, some biscuity malts, strawberries and yeast. Medium carbonation, fine, dry mouthfeel. Flavour has lovely fruity tartness, lots of black currants. Great in the sun at the Rake. Fine, light dryness in the finish. Nice. JoeinUccle (715), Brussels, Belgium Aug 23, 2008 Tart and dry fruit beer is damned interesting, but IMO the currant clashes with mild bitterness in the end. Bottle, from Beer Planet in Brussels. Cloudy brown with off-white head, and all of it with a faint but distinct purplish tint. Sharp tart-fruit nose like real grape juice with a medicinal edge where the fruit meets leafy hop. Tart flavor also carries that discord between tart fruit and mildly bitter hop... Medicinal impression comes form that real fruit-herbal combination. Goes pretty dry at the end, which is nice with a lively and sparkling mouthfeel. Bit of medicinal tang in the aftertaste. BoBoChamp (772), Gent, Belgium Jul 23, 2008 33cl, exclusive fruit brew, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, not balanced, cloudy, good head, nice brew beastiefan2k (1172), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jun 4, 2008 Being a fan of the brewery this was a "want list" beer but unfortunately the biggest miss of the trip. Pours a purplish-reddish-brown color with no clarity and a large head head that eventually becomes a thick surface covering lacing. Its downhill from there. Aroma is herbal (in a bad way), some cough medicine, some cardboard tasting spoiled fruits. Taste is light tart berries which would be nice but its a but weird with off flavors of cardboard and paper fruits. Weird and not good.
330mL bottle, BB 2010, from Bier Temple (Brussels), poured into De Neve tumbler on 5/20/08.
