Muddy brown reddish beer with a foamy pinkish head. Malt, herb and berry aroma with cheesy tones. Interesting. Sour malt and berry flavor. Sharp yeasty and herbal notes and a long lasting rather rancid finish. Weird but interesting.

Tart and dry fruit beer is damned interesting, but IMO the currant clashes with mild bitterness in the end. Bottle, from Beer Planet in Brussels. Cloudy brown with off-white head, and all of it with a faint but distinct purplish tint. Sharp tart-fruit nose like real grape juice with a medicinal edge where the fruit meets leafy hop. Tart flavor also carries that discord between tart fruit and mildly bitter hop... Medicinal impression comes form that real fruit-herbal combination. Goes pretty dry at the end, which is nice with a lively and sparkling mouthfeel. Bit of medicinal tang in the aftertaste.

Being a fan of the brewery this was a "want list" beer but unfortunately the biggest miss of the trip. Pours a purplish-reddish-brown color with no clarity and a large head head that eventually becomes a thick surface covering lacing. Its downhill from there. Aroma is herbal (in a bad way), some cough medicine, some cardboard tasting spoiled fruits. Taste is light tart berries which would be nice but its a but weird with off flavors of cardboard and paper fruits. Weird and not good.
330mL bottle, BB 2010, from Bier Temple (Brussels), poured into De Neve tumbler on 5/20/08.

Bottle, 33 cl. (bought @ Hopduvel, taste @ home yesterday) Almost clear reddisch brown; with pinkish head. Aroma cassis, herbal touch, malts. Light to medium body. Taste sourish blackcurrant, little yeast, fruits; cassis, medicinal touch. This beer is a surprise for me, from this brewery.

(rated 19.07.05) Sampled this one on tap at the London Belgian Beer Festival. There was some, errrm, problems with the tap and thus I was completely drenched in this tasty brew. Well worth it! This rate comes from a bottle - let me preface the rate by saying that it is much better on tap. Cloudy raisin color which looks very natural. Faintish smell of tart fruits, (British) biscuits and fig. In fact, it smells like a fig newton. Taste is quite tart (which is more obvious on tap) with summer fruits:: raspberry, blackberry, mature cherry, lemon and fig. Very dry with a lot of chunky, dark yummies. This one is in a different league to other fruit beers in that it is more distinguished and natural. The best fruit beer I’ve experienced to date. Sad to find out it is no longer produced.
