Wonderful aroma, deep, of malt, wood, cellar, spices… vinous. Good body structure, malty, balanced by a pleasant sour note, and a late light sweetness. Very good final as well, balanced.
Keg, 8-5-8-4-16, 2003-01-12 Red-amber color. Wallnut, malt and caramel nose; slightly spicy. Balanced, powerful, well malty, a lot of caramel. Missing some originality, just an interesting light fruitness.

[vintage 2006]
Pours muddy dark brown with a fine, creamy off-white head. Diminishes quickly to a film at one side of my glass. Floaties? yeah, of course, it’s abbaye de rocs. Aroma is wonderful, sweet, lots of plums, raisins, rye bread, slight spiciness. Low carbonation, very creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has yeast, sweet maltiness, some raisin character and a definite viniousness. Overall, a very complex beer and a wonderful experience, drinking this in the searing heat of the Danish pre-summer :o) Rciesla (813), Brick City, New Jersey, USA May 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber brown with a 3 finger tan head. Aroma and flavor is sweet malt, chocolate, clove and spices, pepper yeast, and some hoppiness in the flavor.
