argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Jan 14, 2005 Creamy, rocky beige head that leaves a lovely lacing, atop an opaque dark brown body, with a fair amount of yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is medium sweet, molasses, raisin, prune, herbal. Taste is a bit sweeter, but otherwise the same as the aroma. Medium-full body, some creaminess. Alcohol is really well hidden.
Tripplebrew (285), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pours a hazy amber with tan head. Aroma is heavy sweet nuts and fruit. Flavor is candied sugar and malts. Very sweet. Body is creamy and carbonation is fair. MuttyD (88), Cambridge, USA Sep 22, 2008 Amber/brown pour, huge white head, and huge amounts of lacing. Aroma is of apples, candied sugar, yeast. Great brew. mjg74 (1799), La Mesa, California, USA Sep 17, 2008 Bottle from Whole Foods. Hazy dark brownish in color. Sweet candied dark fruit aroma. Some banana in the nose as well. Sweet flavors. Some roastiness and spices. Dark fruits and yeast. Alcohol is well hidden. MrChopin (204), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 14, 2008 Updated: Sep 16, 2008Ruby-Mahogany with a large, yellowish, foamy head. Yeast sediment throughout the beer. Nose is quite a blend: very sweet with yeast, fruity jelly, caramel, some spice (possibly a little pepper). Sweet, fruity flavor, malts and yeast the dominant forces. Palate is a little foamy and too carbonated, but long lasting. A nice beer, perhaps best for desert. Furseth (1162), Kungälv, Sweden Sep 1, 2008 Bottle: Hazy red colour, with a nice head. Aroma of sournes, citrus ,fruity, some yesatynes too. Flavor is fruity mouth feeling, nice medium body, medium fruity/citric finish.
