Ruby amber colour with big head. Cabbage, dark plum, prune and yeast in aroma. Very soft mouthfeel from the rich yeast chunks, with plum and prune most prominent, yet very sweet and potent, and traces of wood. The alcohol is very well hidden. Yet another solid ale from a great brewery!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2008 The commercial description is right on when it talks about the enormous scale of flavors. The dark fruit sweetness is the main player but their is some yeast and bitterness. The flavors are just to strong for me but it is still a pretty good drink. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2008 This bottle foamed up crazily when I opened it. Poured dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and dried fruits. Flavor is sweet dark fruits with some caramel and spice. Nice mouthfeel, hides its alcohol well. Very good. downender (2601), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 3, 2008 330ml Bottle from Hopduvel, Gent. Poured an opaque mahogany colour with no head. Aromas of raisins, prunes, caramel and yeast. Flavour was overwhelmed by an almost savoury yeastiness, tasting a bit like Marmite which clashed with the accompanying fruitiness and toffee. Warming alcohol finish. A bit too extreme for me. trevor211 (518), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Pours a cloudy ruby amber. Powerfully fruity aroma of cranberries, raisins and a bit of apple. The flavor brings out a tartness (not-quite-ripe strawberries) and a bitterness (mild grapefruit) that weren’t in the aroma - this one’s all across the map, yet balances the flavor very well. Mouthfeel is nearly perfect - heavy, but not sticky and still well-carbonated. This isn’t one I’d pick up very often, but its complexity is interesting, and it drinks very well for such a fruity beer. redlight (1481), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Caramelly, toasty aromas with a slight musty smell. Pours cloudy amber with a solid white head that seems to be lasting as i let it warm a little. Green raisons, very malty, hints of caramel, with some fruity flavors, fresh grapes. towards the finish there’s a very slight tartness, but finishes sweet and smooth. Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium

Aroma yeast, malt, some sweetness . Full body. Taste fruits, roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, bit rum, good balanced in the finish with hopsbitter.
Alcohlic warm feeling.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottled, thanks ante! Cloudy brownish dark amber with creamy head. Estery pineapple aroma with some raspberries. Sweet and full bodied. Potent concentrated juicy flavours of strawberry esters, lingonberry and wood. Alocohil is fuelling the intesnity of the flavours, but does not disturb. A full flavoured very good beer. In fact nearly as good as their somewhat less strong releases which is a very good thing.
