| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Bottle. Low but lasting off-white creamy head. Hazy dark orange red body with big lumps of yeast sediments. Sour berries aroma with a spicy note. Flavor though is far from sour, its not even acidic, actually it is rather sweet and fruity with a low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste. Would never have guessed on such a high alcohol percentage. Nicely hidden. Floback (337), Naples, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 4, 2008 750 ml bottle from Total Wine. This bottle was a gusher. Pours a copper/brown with a quarter-inch of tan head that reduces to a couple centimeters. Nose is sour yeast, mellow oak notes, and apples. Similar flavors with dark fruits, caramel, candi sugar, and apples in the finish. Alcohol content is hidden well. Highly carbonated and medium-bodied. Good beer, although it gave me a slight stomach ache. Must’ve been something I ate. porterhouse (1162), Alna, Maine, USA

Pours cloudy brownish amber with one finger of creamy, soft-looking biege head that recedes to about 1/4" and stays. Quite a bit of solids at bottom of bottle. Aroma of candyish malt, dark fruits and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is buttery soft and luscious. Thin sheets of lacing on inside of glass melt away quickly. Flavor is big and sugary - brown sugar and candy malt sweetness with touches of dark sweet fruit. Well-integrated alcohol presence. Quite elegant and tasty.
