Tastes sweet, spicey, woody, maple, caramel, brown sugar, creamy, and more. Lively carbonated, but i lite it, makes a very tasty and strong beer very easy to drink, unbeleiveable easy, it just disappears down. Is it me, or is there a lot of pulp? Sweet and spicey finish, alcohol is very well hidden. A GREAT BEER! Pastor (509), Maine, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Bottle pored into a Duvel tulip glass dark brown with a nice one finger worth of lace and a few yeast particles floating around. This one has a great aroma’s of Belgium yeast and caramel along with a light dark fruit in the background. This ale has a medium creamy body and a nice tingle on the tongue. Flavors of toffee and sweet caramel along with sweet fruit not much bitterness in this one but it does have a light spice presence.
Good thing this thing has floaters it causes you to sip it and really enjoy it. LOL Not the first Belgium that I have had floaters in ba2008 (25), USA

The aroma is really strong with darkish fruits, I imagined cherries, figs, and raisins. Really nice. The flavor had the fruits, but mixed with a splash of cough syrup and a mild alcoholic burn on the backside. mar (1940), Dallas, Texas, USA

From the bottle it pours a dark cloudy amber with a huge head that laces nicely. Flavor is a wonderful sweet fruity taste with an alcohol burn. There’s a bit of tartness in the taste that is very nice. Very good. hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Light aroma of sweet caramel and spices — a hint of clove. The flavor is full of spice and sweet caramel and a note of earthiness. There is a slight tartness. Medium body is smooth on the palate, syrupy in the aftertaste with a long finish. bhensonb (4361), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Aroma of dark malts and fruits. Dark mahogany color with a coarse beige/tan head. Full bodied with coarse/creamy carbonation. The flavor is smooth dark fruits and malts. Spice is present and complex, but light. The finish still bursts with fruits. Not a great deal of bitter, but neither is it sweet. An excellent example of how neither sweet nor bitter has to dominate. It’s fun to enjoy.
