Spicy and sweet nose with some brown sugars. Quite full-bodied, rich with sweet caramels and some spices - as well as a slightly earthy/fusty edge. Plenty of brown sugars in there also. Basically no bitterness. 280907 Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Bottle. [Courtesy of Sk8viking, quality tasting @ Papsoe] Large creamy and thick beige head. Excellent film like lacework that just covered the inside of the glass. Muddy amber / brown color. Aroma was quit amazing and complex. A big fan of other brews from Abbaye Des Rocs, this one did not disappoint. With the well known Des Rocs yeasty like aroma. Also notes of bread, caramel, toffee, toasted malt, nutty, raisin, prune, fruit and spice. Very full bodied with a light alcoholic texture and an average carbonation. Heavy sweet flavor with light notes of acidic and bitter notes as well. Fruity and spicy lingering finish. Wow that was a fantastic beer. 28-09-2007 joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA
