12oz bottle from beer swap box - Thanks! - Huge gusher.. Wasn’t expecting it so half of this wound up on my kitchen table - Pours dark brown quite cloudy with a fluffy tan head that stays well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of candi sugar, raisins, and yeast. Flavor is candi sugar, raisins, some light yeast, toasted malts, a little toffee and caramel there too.. Pretty tasty actually. Quite smooth on the palate carbonated lightly with a very soft mouthfeel for a big beer. Alcohol is covered well too...

750 ml bottle best by 2007. Pours a hazy brown copper color with chunks of floaties and a large foamy off white sustaining and lacing head. Aroma of rich dark fruits, brown sugar, Belgian yeast, caramel, spicy and floral. Flavor also had the dark fruits, brown sugar, yeast and spices but I was also picking up some biscuit, toasty malts, some tart green apple and a touch of hops to compliment the rich malty complexity. I was really in the mood for a solid Belgian Ale and this one sure came through. Boy did this thing have a bunch of chunks floating around in it! I agree with the commercial description this thing sure has an enormous scale of both flavors and aroma.

Flavor is a mix of brown sugar, figs, and bright flowers. Some sediment, but not nearly as chunky as their grand cru. Just a hint of that 10% ABV, but for the most part it is buried. Delicious.

The aroma has plums, figs, raisins, brown sugar, floral hops, spices, and yeast. The appearance is red-orange-brown with a medium sized foamy head. The flavor is complex like the aroma. It has all the same elements and is very sweet. There is also a hint of coffee. The palate is nice and is the appropriate thickness. The aftertaste is also sweet with plenty of malt and alcohol. Overall it’s very nice.

Bottle. Pours a very bubbly hazy orange-brown with tons of huge floaties -- I mean TONS! -- and a large mostly lasting foamy tan head. Very nice aroma of dark malt, dark fruit, brown sugar, Belgian yeast, some hops and more -- very pleasant and complex. Flavour is yeasty with dark fruit, malt, red wine, a surprising amount of hops and a slightly alcoholic bitter finish. Very tasty stuff. Alcohol’s pretty well hidden for the most part. Nice medium to full body. Very impressive, this is how you do a Tripel! This brewery never dissapoints.

Four of us shared a large 750ml bottle of this as an after dinner drink. The yeast chunks floating in it were a novel feature. Still, it had a wonderful aroma and the taste had hints of raisins, currents and plums. My wife, who HATES beer actually like this.

[a troublesome 750ml bottle] Pours a brownish red color; very cloudy. Sweet, slightly yeasty aroma, with a tiny bit of nutmeg and clove spice towards the end. Flavors are sugary sweet, with some complex dark fruits, yeast and smooth, warming alcohol. Pretty strong carbonation. Very mellow and sweet, an excelent strong tripel.
