Pours a clear, medium amber with a small, creamy, white mostly diminishing head. The aroma is really pretty: Moderately malty of fully-roasted grain, lightly hoppy with a note of pine/resin and a moderate yeasty note of cellar and full of compelling miscellaneous aromas of rosehips, clove, corriander and -- maybe I’m crazy -- there seems to be a note of aspen bark/sap lightly present as well. The flavor starts heavily sweet and lightly bitter and goes into an average-length finish that is both lightly bitter and lightly sweet. The palate is pure meow. The body is full-to-medium, the texture is cream and the carbonation is fizzy. The high-alcohol content is nearly imperceptable. Danger. :) The last signal-flare of carbonation and creamy texture matches well with the mellow, balanced finish and just sends me. B-e-a-utiful! scraff (1946), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Turbid rusty brown, thick tan creamy head. Deep rich complex nose of dates, port, brown sugar, berry, and raisin, with soft chocolaty undertones. The flavor bursts forward with caramelized dark fruits, brown sugar, and robust vinous notes throughout. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, lightly bittersweet finish. What else is new.....just another great Belgian beer found in my own backyard. Loved it!

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2006 Damn, this stuff is good! Yes, stubby, I agree, this is dark for a triple, but I don’t mind, since it’s great. Had it for New Year’s Eve, after polishing off Trader Joe’s 2005 special brew (9% abv, brewed by Unibroue of Canada) and Unibroue’s 10% abv 2005 ale, and Abbaye des Roc T.I. blew those respectable brews away with intensively good quality. slang (403), Columbia, South Carolina, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Dark and thick for a triple. Am I misinterpreting the style? RB has it as a Belgian strong. Very good stuff, with a wonderful dried fruit aroma. Raisins and Belgian yeast on the flavors. Great New Year’s Eve bottle. ervan (37), Redwood City, California, USA

Aroma is spicy, sweet, and yeasty. Flavor is fruity, choco. Pours out a nice dark amber color with a huge head. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Bottle (330ml). Huge foaming right out of the bottle - after cleaning up a bit, Poured slightly hazy ruby-brown with a huge off-white foaming head, quite a flock of large floaties too. Aroma of spicy roast caramel malt, sour wine, lots of fruits and a huge amount of sourdough yeast - really appealing, quite big. Taste follows the aroma, tons of sour fruit, slightly chocolately candyish malt, sour spice and of course lots of almost mossy yeast. Mouthfeel lively, thick and complex. Really nice treat, despite the mess!
