Deep brown, small tight head. Floaties and sinkies. Sweet fruity bubble-gum aroma. Very soft palate, carbonation low. Loads of tingly hops and a pile of sweet ginger cake. Plenty of sweet malty body. Finish is creamy and ginger cake. Covers alcohol well - it’s potent, but not actually strong. Some rubber later, which is the only drawback. Expect this to be excellent if left to age a couple of years. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Excellent nose of pears, apples, and other lovely fruits. Flavor is a little subpar. I like the guy who described it as some wet cardboard. Right on. Finish leaves the tongue sand-paper dry which isn’t pleasant either. It’s not bad, but not great. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Mar 16, 2009 In the words of a good friend (who provided the bottle), this beer pwns. Place this in a class of megabeers. Intensely yeasty, thick with flavor notes of what might have been molasses and (carefully) richly fruit-sweet. anders37 (4774), Malmö, Sweden

Has a malty spicy yeasty aroma with some hints of dark ruit. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a warming sweetish malty spicy finish with some hints of dark fruit in the aftertaste. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Tastes like raisins, wet cardboard, yeast, and hot alcohol. Lively carbonation and sticky sweet aroma. I love lambics, but dump-another-bag-of- candi-sugar-in-the-fermentation-tank style Belgians do nothing for me. Not worth another try. | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bottle, purchased at Stateline @ the De/Md border. 750ml bottle. Pour is deep brown with generous amounts of yeast and other sediments. Could be the best pour ever seen, which increases overall impression. Mouth is medium to full, in no way ’boozy’. Sophisticated and refined. Flavors are complex, inviting and warming, dark fruits, earthy, and yeast. A drink fit for the Gods of Gods (Rating = 4.85) jredmond (1056), New Jersey, USA

This is one of the better Belgian Strongs I’ve had, although it seems like the category should be something else. Anyway, nice flavor combo of ripe fruits and spice.
