Dark amber beer with the usual, annoying Abbaye des Rocs floaters. Big and lasting off-white head. The aroma has some caramel, malt and dried fruits, but also chalk, earth and old yeast. Flavour is caramel, dark sugar and dried fruits, with some warming/near-hot alcohol. Great big mouthfeel, and lasting and pleasant fruity, vineous aftertaste

The elixir decants in a bronzy blush, bespeckled with curiously immobile chaff, and adorned by a tremendous lumpy ivory mane of astounding stamina. Marvelous fruit and caramel aromas invade my skull and enwreathe my conciousness with spice and rosemary... thrilling nectarous fragrances as consummate and exquisite as the ethreal flirtations of a nubile sylph. Each sip incites an ambrosial feast; I gorge myself on pineapple and creme brulee, gingerbread and honey... and flavors practically dripping with exotic perfumes of jasmine and incense. The libation concludes on a bawdier, sweet-throaty chuckle of cola, cognac and lime that impulsively French kisses into a giddy green raisin and macadamia aftertaste. The fluffy, juicy mouthfeel features a schnappslike alcohol nip, the dulcet sensation as supplely fluid and wickedly piquant as cunnilingus. A vivacious and bewitchingly seductive ale.

Dark brown with thick tight head. Some strong hints of boiled cabbage in the aroma along with sour tamarind. Texture is rich and thick. Flavour is warming from the alcohol but also has a cherry sourness to it that I find rather unpalletable.

Bottle at home. Brown with a light brown head, some lacings. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, roasted, dark sweet fruits, brown sugar, spicy notes). Flavor moderate to heavy sweet. Full body.

Ruddy brown with big white head. Aroma of raisins and malt. Flavor of dark fruit with a well balanced malt and hop combo. Should age nicely.

Cloudy medium brown with big chunks of sediment. Nice big light tan head that hangs around in a creamy layer. A delightful aroma is sweet fruit and yeast. Sediment is so thick it almost has to be chewed. Plenty of alcohol is noticed. Flavors are fruit, yeast, sugar and pepper. This has a brandy feel to it. There is a big zing but not a lot of carbonation. Another wonderful beer from Belgium.

des Rocs is one of my favorite brewers and I was happy to finally see this beer on tap at Mugs. Poured into a pint (which I was very surprised to see, not cause of glass but just because of so much beer) with no head. It is completely murky gelatin with junk floating around, as always from the bottle but even on tap, damn guys. Aroma is all coriander, man I guess I forgot this was all damn coriander. It’s like Traquir Jacobite with just a Belgian yeast. Taste chugs right along with the coriander, which also takes on a tea aspect. In the end there is a bit of yeast fruitiness. Man, all coriander but still cool.
