on tap-pours a tan head and black color. Aroma is dark malt, sharpness. Taste is dark malt-licorice, sharpness. OK carbonation. Occasional.

Amazing pitch black, glimmering oily body, very easy on the eyes. Small light tan head forms and reluctantly recedes, though never fully diminishing. Lacing is elegant. Aroma is extremely fruity: apricots, oranges, appleskins and grapes. Roast and chocolate notes are full bore and pleasing. Roasted grains are cooked to the point they taste like a key ingredient in a blackened stout, cajun style. Dates carry a weighty presence in the taste. Alcohol is sufficiently masked, at times totally so. The flavor overall however is very satisfying and presented in such a manner that this is extremely easy to drink. Finishes with bittersweet chocolate and apricot notes, short and sweet. Full bodied and very silky mouthfeel, ample carbonation that seeks to spread the flavors evenly over the entire palate. One to revisit next time I journey to Miami.

Draft... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The aroma provides hearty notes of chocolate, molasses and alcohol. Burnt, bitter-sweet flavor with heaps of chocolate, molasses and prune. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Bitter-sweet, burnt finish. World class brew!

My Bottom Line:
Grapey fruitiness and roasting molasses combine in a very healthy mouthfeel. This Imperial Stout is humble and drinkable and might please your dark malt desires.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-The fruity, vinous nose boasts some roastiness too.
-A veil of foam tops the opaque black.
-All of their beers that day were quite fruity.
-The roasty finish does benefit from some supporting hop bitterness.
-Abv is well-hidden, which makes this beer quite drinkable for its size.
-The surrounding cigar smoke in this tiny bar fits with this imperial stout quite well.

On tap at the brewpub.

Courtesy boboski. Pours pitch black with very little head. Smell is somewhat subtle. Some burnt malts and even a little dark fruit. Taste is alot of dark burnt malts and light roasted chocolate. I get a little dark fruit in the finish with balances the malts a little. Not huge on flavor, and I was looking for a little more chocolate, but still not too bad.

"Father Theodore’s Imperial Stout" On draft - Stogies and Stouts at Dunedin Brewery 02/08/07. Poured into the sampler glass a stout-ish look with dark liquid nectar and tan head. The aroma is on the light side. I smell a bit of wine grapes (maybe tart smelling) as well as some sweet malts. Mouth feel is a tad thin. The flavor has hints of red wine grapes, a bit of alcohol, hints of dates and plums and some sweet malts.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a thick black with a short cap of beige head. Aroma was a tad subdued, but pleasant.. with roasted chocolate, coffee, and toffee... coffee picked up steam with warmth. Coffee-based flavor, too.. quite fresh with graininess, roasted chocolate, barley, and licorice toward the finish. Medium viscocity and smooth with some graininess and woodiness. Good stuff!

Black pour, beige head. Pretty standard imperial, your coffee, choclate, malty, but creamy, and not too hoppy, but kinda thin, good beer.
