Nov 1, 2007 23 oct 07. Draft @ Abbey Brewing Co. in Miami Beach. Super black, dark brown head. Aroma of sweet toffee, coffee, cocoa. Flavors of anise, caramel, molasses, coffee, cocoa. Strong alcohol. An ideal, rich bodied, perfect Imperial Stout.

Jan 10, 2009 Wow that is good. First thing you will notice is that it is unlike most stouts- not chocolaty or coffee tasting, but instead light and fruity. I tasted grapes, pear, and prunes, but in amounts copious enough to fill you like any other Imperial Stout, difference is that this one goes down more easily.

Mar 15, 2007 Draft... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The aroma provides hearty notes of chocolate, molasses and alcohol. Burnt, bitter-sweet flavor with heaps of chocolate, molasses and prune. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Bitter-sweet, burnt finish. World class brew!

Feb 16, 2005 Full mouthfeel, creamy thickness but not over-the-top. Well ablanced with a variety of malts including of course chocolate malt. Roast but not overally.

Jul 31, 2004 Whoa. amazing. nitrogen’d beer with an aroma i cant quite place. kind of sweet. the taste was full on sweetness. raisins and some dark fruits, but mainly raisins dipped in chocolate. incredibly smoothe and rich like a milkshake. i didnt get any coffee out of it like my friends did.

Nov 13, 2007 Lately I’m coming across a lot of great imperial stouts, and this is up there with the best of them. Pours inky black with a minimal head, common (but not necessarily typical) for the style. Aroma of coffee and vanilla. To me, there are two types of imperial stouts, those that evoke a port wine, and those that have that great roasty flavor. This one seemingly bridges that -- all roasty up front, with a long port middle, and more roast on the back end. Chewy and delicious, with a mildly boozy undercurrent throughout. Just the right alcohol-ish finish. Highly recommended.

Dec 18, 2008 Tap at Abbey. Great looking black pour with pillowy frothy head.Toasty malt aromas, robust dusty malts. Distant spice and pine. Nice body quite tasty overall.

May 6, 2008 Quite a unique imperial stout. Very good. Matly, chocolate, and delicious. Not as thick as some, but delicious.
